BEHIND THE SCENES

Alex

A lifelong animal lover, my dream of building P-K Pet Resort & Spa came true after 20 years. My passion for dogs started at 13 in Brazil, where I learned dog handling and grooming from Paulo Roberto Godinho. Moving to the US, I honed my skills under Maripi Wooldridge, one of the country's top dog handlers.

This journey encompassed over 45 years of professional experience, from grooming and boarding to rescue and education. I also have been a grooming instructor and a mentor for many aspiring dog groomers and pet professionals. I have cared for and groomed many dogs that have won prestigious awards at shows like the Westminster Kennel Club.

With a playful self-designation as a "crazy cat lady with 500 million cats" (or just a couple dozen!), I also volunteer at Camp Companion and Evergreen Sanctuary fostering and adopting countless cats through the years. Alongside my husband Brian, we raise two amazing kids and manage a menagerie of cats, dogs, and even guinea pigs at home and of course our beloved cows. My rare free time is spent indulging in Korean dramas, Korean food, and leaning the language.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Brian

A Minnesota dairy farmer at heart, I own both Poly-Kow Dairy Farm and P-K Pet Resort & Spa. Though a self-proclaimed workaholic, I find immense joy in raising award-winning, high genetics dairy cattle, both Holsteins and Jerseys.

I married the girl from Rio de Janeiro who shares my passion for animals. Together we’ve raised two amazing kids who, like us, are absolutely crazy about animals. Our farm is full of a couple dozen rescue & foster cats, three dogs and of course our beloved cows.

As a sports enthusiast, I enjoy coaching youth basketball and staying active through running, biking, and hitting the gym. I love to share and teach my passions to all and I’m always ready to lend a hand.

My deep love for animals extends to daring rescues. Don’t be surprised to find me hanging upside down from the barn rafters to rescue a bird. While vacations often involve cow shows and even more work, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Christine

I’m one of the proud owners of P-K Pet Resort & Spa. Apart from my four wonderful children, my life revolves around my love of animals and a passion for hiking and exploring new destinations. Recently, my spunky puppy Rio, the "Activities Director" of the resort and I are venturing into the world of dog shows. Home is shared not only with Rio but also with three cats named Diablo, Lala, and Piper.

I have experience caring for a diverse range of animals, including cats, dogs, birds, and even chickens. As a child, my aspiration was to become a veterinarian and to live on a hobby farm. Now I find myself living out my dream by working with dogs, surrounded by cows and cats too. The only thing missing is Alex's consent to add goats, sheep, chickens and a donkey to her farm.

Nevertheless, I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have ventured into the pet resort business alongside my closest friend, who shares my unwavering passion & dedication for animals.
